San Salvador de Jujuy is number 15 on our list of Argentina’s largest cities. This city is located in the very northern part of Argentina and at the foot of the Andes Mountains. It has a population of 237,751, and was established in 1593. It has a subtropical climate with mild but humid summers. Keep in mind that the southern hemisphere is the opposite of the northern. So in the southern hemisphere the further north you go the closer you get to the equator and the hotter it is.
The city is many times known as San Salvador or just Jujuy and it serves as the provincial capital of Jujuy. The province of Jujuy has a population of over 670,000 people.
I am happy to say that there are missionaries and national pastors working in San Salvador de Jujuy, with some in the capital and others in cities throughout the province. I know of at least two working in the capital which means there would be one for every 115,000 people. Much work still needs to be done. Pray this week for this city and the men who labor to bring the gospel to it.
