Shawn Bateman, Misionary to Argentina
May 11, 2017
Here is an article about the “death flights” that took place in the 70’s in Argentina.
At the time Argentina was dealing with a communistic uprising and the military made a dictatorship for a few years and stamped out communism and any left wing opponents. The problem was they did not only fight and eliminate military guerrillas but also captured, tortured, and killed intellectuals, reporters, union leaders, and pretty much anyone who was rumored to be a communist. This is a very dark and sad part of Argentina’s history.
Here is an interesting article about the major problem with Argentina’s financial crisis of the last 15 years. They closed themselves off to the rest of the world but things are changing.
