““I cared not where or how I lived, or what hardships I went through, so that I could but gain souls to Christ.”- David Brainerd

Shawn Bateman, Misionary to Argentina

February, 2018

This should be the goal of every missionary. Not only of every missionary but every Christian. Almost every day, in just living our lives and going about our day-to-day activities and work, opportunities present themselves to be a witness to someone. Are we taking advantage of these opportunities?

In February I was able to participate and speak in a summer camp. I know that sounds strange having a summer camp in February but the seasons on this side of the equator are the opposite of those you have in North America. At the camp we had a good attendance and several young people accepted Christ as their savior. Emily was invited to teach the young ladies in a retreat that was held by the church we attend.

I also had the opportunity to attend a conference on missions at Macedonia Baptist Seminary. Pastor Jorge Espinoza, a pastor in Lima, Perú, taught the course. His teachings were a great blessing.

In February I also had the privilege to help officiate in my first Spanish wedding. I’ve have also received more invitations to preach in different churches. Please pray for me that we might be a blessing to every church and pastor that we are able to be with.

Prayer Points:

  • That we continue to grow in our fluidity in the Spanish language.
  • That God would bless us in our discipling and witnessing to others.
